Eastern Neighbourhood
Youth is at the heart of EU cooperation with its Eastern partners. The EU promotes youth skills development and employability, education and training, and supports youth engagement in civic, cultural, academic and professional exchanges. These support measures aim to increase the employability of young people and their participation in society and the economy, and assist them in acquiring skills and becoming active citizens and entrepreneurs.
Southern Neighbourhood
The EU is dedicated to increasing its involvement with young people in the Southern Mediterranean region, as well as assisting partner countries in providing greater possibilities for young people through education, vocational training, job creation, and SME support. It also promotes youth policy exchanges among Southern Mediterranean countries through existing regional cooperation fora.
Western Balkans
In collaboration with Western Balkan partners, the EU invests in youth through a variety of programmes, including education and vocational training, entrepreneurship, culture, research, inclusion, cooperation, civic activism, and various exchange programmes for learning and personal development. Many young Western Balkan entrepreneurs have already benefited from EU assistance, and thousands of students have learned new skills as a result of training, study, or voluntary work in another country.
Türkiye
Youth employment and education are key areas of EU support in Türkiye. The support focuses on increasing the employability of young people, so that they can build the skills needed for the future of work. Quality vocational education and training, retention in secondary school and inclusion and human rights aspects are further areas of EU support, as well as the social rights of refugee youth and promoting social cohesion.
